Terms of Use

Last updated

These terms apply to the NipponWalk iPhone app and this website, provided by Chu Ventures. By using NipponWalk you agree to them. The app is also licensed to you under Apple’s Standard End User License Agreement (EULA).

Not medical advice

NipponWalk is a walking timer and coach. It is not a medical device and does not give medical advice. Check with your doctor before starting a new exercise routine, especially if you have a health condition. Stop walking and rest if you feel pain, dizziness or shortness of breath.

“Fast” means brisk for you, not running or reaching a particular speed. Walk at a pace that is right for your body.

Walk safely

Stay aware of traffic and your surroundings. Keep your music and the voice cues at a volume that lets you hear what's around you. You are responsible for walking in places and conditions that are safe.

NipponWalk Pro and subscriptions

The standard walk, voice and vibration cues, stamps and the current month's calendar are free. NipponWalk Pro adds the walk log, past months, the Streak Shield and the 4-week ramp. It is offered as a yearly or monthly subscription, or as a one-time lifetime purchase, at the prices shown in the app before you buy.

  • Payment is charged to your Apple Account when you confirm the purchase.
  • Free trial: if a plan includes a free trial (for example 7 days on the yearly plan for first-time subscribers), you are charged when the trial ends unless you cancel at least 24 hours before it ends.
  • Auto-renewal: subscriptions renew automatically at the same price and period unless you turn off auto-renew at least 24 hours before the current period ends. Your Apple Account is charged within the 24 hours before the renewal.
  • Cancel or manage in iOS Settings → your name → Subscriptions, or from NipponWalk → Settings → Manage subscription. Cancelling stops the next renewal; Pro stays active until the end of the period you paid for.
  • Refunds are handled by Apple under its policies (reportaproblem.apple.com).
  • Restore: NipponWalk → Settings → Restore purchases unlocks Pro on a new device signed in to the same Apple Account.
  • If Pro ends, your walks, stamps and history stay on your iPhone; only the Pro features lock again.

Changes and availability

We may update the app, its features and these terms. If the terms change, we'll update the date at the top. Continuing to use NipponWalk after a change means you accept the updated terms.
